Get Your Feet Wet with Wonderful Websites

Page history last edited by Tracy Poelzer 9 years, 6 months ago

The best way to "get your feet wet" is by using terrific, interactive websites on the SMARTboard.  There are many free sites out there which add interactivity to lessons and appeal to multiple intelligences and different types of learners. The great thing about using this type of website is that they are easy to access, students can also play with them in the computer lab or at home, and the learning curve for using them on the SMARTboard is very small.  Jump in and play!!!

Do a Google search for your topic, but add the word "interactive" to the search.  (ie:  'interactive human body')

SMART Resources wiki

Created by fantastic teacher-librarians Tracy Poelzer and Nicole Gorman, this is a "one stop shopping place" for interactive websites linked to the BC curriculum.  Our hope is that teachers across the district will grow a powerful, collaborative resource by adding terrific links to this wiki.  There are sections which still contain no recommended links (hopefully you will add some!), but there is enough here to keep you busy for days anyway!

Teachers Love SMARTboards Blog

Jim Hollis is amazing! He continually shares all sorts of tips, lessons, Notebook files, and links to fantastic websites that work well with the SMARTboard.  This blog is definitely worth adding to your RSS feed reader!

Tracy often send links to useful websites to her staffs.  If you are a SD73 teacher and would like to be added to this email list, let her know...
